Van Shipley
Van Shipley is credited with being the first electric guitarist in India. He composed music for films, and was one of the first musicians to release independent albums of instrumental renditions of Hindi film songs. 1943 he joined Husnlal Bhagatram as music assistant, later he moved to Bombay. He worked on the background score of Barsaat, Aawara. His first independent record was released in 1962.
