He shares a special place in our hearts for his perfect drunken acts. He debuted with Bimal Roy's Musafir in 1957. He's known for his straight face dialog delivery. With 1970's Maa Aur Mamta, he gained popularity as a drunkard. Who can forget his portrayal in Chupke Chupke, Golmaal, Pratiggya, Sholay etc. He was a teetotalar in his real life.
