Dev Anand introduced Khosla to Guru Dutt, and, joined as his assistant. Later, Khosla went on to become one of the most successful directors of Indian cinema. He directed films like, CID, Woh Kaun Thi?, Mera Saaya, Do Raste, Mera Gaon Mera Desh, etc.  He was known for bringing in "neo-noir" style in Indian cinema since black and white times, and also as a "women's director" because he showcased actresses at their best.
